useful map1

This shows central Northampton. The ‘Pear shaped’ area on the map is the town centre. At the middle of the ‘Pear’ you will find the market square, shopping centres and precincts, banks and the bus station. The orange arrow just to the right of the ‘Pear’ shows the location of the main entrance to the hospital, while over to the left of the map is Northampton train station (which is 25 minutes walk from the hospital). Depending on the number of stops en route it is roughly one hour by train to Birmingham New Street station, and a little over one hour to London Euston. Junction 15 of the M1 motorway is approximately 5 miles south of this map.

This shows the hospital at the centre of the map. The blue inner circle shows an area which is within 5 minutes walking distance from the hospital main entrance, while the edge of the outer black circle would take ten minutes.

This area of town makes up a part of the district of Abington, and is a respectable residential area which is very convenient for both the hospital and the town centre. Many of the large and impressive buildings along the Billing Road are occupied by law and accountancy firms, and if you continue along the Billing Road you will reach the top of the town centre within ten minutes.

Many of the nearest residential streets are shown on these maps, so you may find them useful in your search for suitable accommodation.
